Fact Sheet
Danger Zone
An avalanche of dust and ice particles spreads out along the bottom of a Martian cliff in a picture snapped February 19 by NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. The cliff is almost a half-mile tall, and is coated by frozen carbon dioxide at left. The cloud of debris spans about twice the length of a football field. [NASA/JPL/University of Arizona]
