Colliding Galaxies
Cosmic rays could get their fuel from the intense energy created by colliding galaxies. Here, two spiral galaxies, NGC 2207 and IC 2163, are on a slow collision course, throwing out stars and gas into long streamers that stretch 100,000 light-years from the smaller galaxy.
