Fact Sheet
15 Sagittae
The star 15 Sagittae, which is the small, bright object at the center of this artist's concept, is a near "twin" to our own Sun. The more prominent object in the illustration is a brown dwarf that orbits the star. A brown dwarf is a "failed star" -- an object that is larger and more massive than a planet, but not massive enough to shine as a true star. [Jon Lomberg/Gemini Observatory]
