Fact Sheet
North Stars
An artist's concept shows the triple-star system known as Polaris, the North Star. The largest star at bottom is the one that is visible to our eyes alone. A fairly small star at top, known as Polaris B, is visible through most telescopes. But the third star, which is quite close to Polaris, was recently seen for the first time with Hubble Space Telescope. [Credit: NASA/ESA/G. Bacon (STScI)]
